I grunted and used a doe in heat bleat can when we got into the stand. Within 5 minutes the deer appeared looking for the source of the calls. Kelli made a great shot direct to the heart from about 40 yards. Deer ran about 30 yards and tipped over! Kelli used a Sako rifle in .243 caliber, with 70 grain Sierra hand loads.
We gutted the deer and walked back to the barn to get the 4 wheeler for the haul to the truck.
Once we got back to Tank & Marie's we skinned the deer and prepped it for the butcher.
